About Us

Our Beginnings

The Stillwater Car Club started out as the Stillwater Antique and Classic Car Club in 1988 when several like-minded individuals started meeting regularly for breakfast on the first Saturday of the month in each other's homes. Some of the original members were John Hamilton, Gerald & Jeanette Bradshaw, John & Earlene Leonard, Ken & Peggy King, and Bruce & Bonnie Petty.

In 1995, the club was incorporated as a nonprofit. In that same year, it hosted its first local car show. The club rapidly outgrew the home meetings and has met at several public venues around Stillwater over the years.

As club membership continued to grow, finding ways to give back to our community became a unanimous desire so in 2021, the club established a scholarship program using proceeds from its annual car show. These scholarships are awarded to students working through the automotive program at Meridian Technology Center, aiming to foster continued interest within the next generation. In 2023, an endowment was established by the club to provide a legacy commitment to empowering the next generation in the automotive industry.

Excursions

Several times throughout the year, we organize excursions for our members to places of automotive interest in the region. We visit both public and private car collections, some of which are very exclusive, as well as various museums and automotive attractions intriguing and inspiring!

Investing in the Next Generation

The trades are important to us. Especially the ones directly related to our beloved hobby and passion! Each year, the proceeds from our annual car show provide scholarships for students in the automotive programs at Meridian Technology Center. Additionally, the proceeds also help bolster an established endowment to continue providing financial aid to those students well into the future.
